Ray is active in both face to face counseling and email counseling. His skills include helping clients start their business and also help them with business plans, financial forecasting, financial analysis, and their financing requests. He can help existing businesses analyze their operations to find weak spots and develop strategies for profit and operational improvement. Ray has experience in many industries.
Ray is also part of the Richmond chapter's Profit Improvement Team. This team works with existing businesses with at least $1,000,000 in revenues to improve their situation.
Ray's experience includes 33 years with First Union National Bank/Wachovia Bank retiring as Executive Vice-President and Senior Credit Officer. He was involved in extending credit and banking services to large and small businesses. He developed skills in detecting, analyzing, and solving problems in starting and running businesses.
After retiring from the bank, Ray earned his Certified Financial Planning designation and started his own financial planning company. Ray provided fee only financial planning and investment advice to individuals. After 6 years Ray decided to sell the business and focus on his volunteer activities.
